Arch linux

I usually ask myself and try Linux distributions to see which one is the best. My ultimate choice always is arch Linux.

Why?
There is only one version of it available
It doesn't do any arch branding
It is efficient, not bloated, faster

What I do after install

Install os-prober, run it standalone
Install grub, $grub-install /dev/sda, $grub-mkconfig...
sudo then add user with -m to group wheel
Vim
Visudo uncomment wheel elevated privileges
Install gnome-session (lightest gnome) & gdm (heavy but aesthetically good)
gnome-terminal
Text editor like mousepad
Fira mono fonts
Gnome-tweak-tool
Add tap to click ability

Vitamin B 12 in India

Reliable Vitamin B12 source in India

Which is the best over-the-counter Vitamin B12 supplement in India?

It shouldn’t be a big problem if you are a non-vegetarian. You probably are getting enough B12. If you suspect to be defecient, you should get yourself tested for B12 levels.

B12 can’t be accumulated in your body so there is no harm of toxicity if you take excess in terms of supplements.

In India, most widely sold Vitamin B12 in methycobalamin, however as per Dr. Michael Greger Cyanocobalamin is the best form of Vit B12 supplement.

I have found Homocheck which has 400 mcg of Cyanocobalamin in India to be the closest to recommended form of Vit B12. You will have to take 7 tablets every week to reach recommended levels of supplementation.

These 7 tablets can be either taken at once every week or 1 every day. You can also take 4 tablets twice a week. Just make sure you take 7 tablets of 400 mcg Cyanocobalamin each week.

There are several online stores that are selling this tablet like medplus mart and 1mg.

Since B12 is sotred in the liver for about a year, the defeciency will not show up before 6–12 months you actually become deficient.

Vegetarians or vegan who don’t use fortified B12 food will have B12 defenciency and Cyanocobalamin is the cheapest and easiest way to replenish the required B12 levels.

I hope this helps!

Gold is old

Finally gold is tumbling down, it is the right direction it is going in. Gold had no industrial use and no intrinsic value. It's cost should only be the cost of mining + markup for those seeking it. It has no better use than ornamental or jewellery purpose. It is not an asset but a speculative instrument.
Gold is old now.

Health, Wealth, Wisdom

It is traditional ancient knowledge our forefathers have been teaching. Health and Wisdom are key to a successful life. As our societies grow more capitalistic, governed free market economies, the focus on financial education will increase. So in this era and age - Health Wealth and Wisdom are going to be three great focus areas. Frugality is a key topic to go hand in hand with wealth creation.

Gold - employable vs unemployable assets

If you buy a piece of land, it is employable. You can probably produce tomatoes or paddy out of it. This is an employable asset.

Can good on it's own create anything? No. It is not an employable asset. Gold is an unemployable asset. It is good for speculation. Hoping that you but it cheap and some day in the future it will be worth more.

My prediction is that as Indian youth go more atheistic and urban, the traditional need for wearing jewellery will come down. By 2065, India's household gold will be fully converted into asserts that produce or create something. Why 2065? Roughly two generations from today.

Warren has clearly stayed away from gold, he bought and silver as a speculative investment.

Youtube learning

Youtube channels you should watch

I hate reading books, I would rather watch a quick video while riding a bus or a cab.

What Youtube channels should you watch? Here are some not mainstream that you can watch with your children

Youtube offline is a boon but doesn't work all the time, I suggest using youtube-dl to download the videos and watch them at leisure.

Thanks,

Insurances! Insurances! Insurances!

You will need Insurance. Life, PA & Health.

You will need two insurances for sure, one is for Life and one is for Health. Get these covered first. Don't use policybazaar.com , they will spam you, call you everyday even if you say DND.

Life Insurance

Do not try to use insurance as an investment. I did the mistake and paid dearly! Money back is bad, ULIP is bad, everything that has a maturity benefit is bad. Shut up and buy a term policy - split it in two or three - one LIC eTerm (5 lacs), one Max Life (5 lacs),  one HDFC Click2Protect (5 lacs) and one in ICICI Lombard (5lacs). Diversify, hopefully none of them will reject a claim.

Very related is Personal Accident Insurance, get one along with Life Insurance, if you are young over 25 - this is what will probably best fit you.

Here's a comparative of best term policies out there, any of these is fine, just pick one or two

Health Insurance

Compare! read policy documents very carefully
I like ICICI, Religare and Max Bupa from the looks of it. I never made a claim because I am covered by my employer.

Livemint article - They advocate ICICI

Property/House Insurance

Got a big house with lot of EMIs, don't skimp buy a property/house insurance that at least covers fire, theft, etc.
